As part of the New York City Marathon weekend the NYRR club held a 5k road race through the city`s streets today attracting a World Class field. Clonliffe`s Alistair Cragg used the race as part of his build up towards the Fukuoka Marathon on December 1st, a marathon which also includes Mark Kenneally on the start list. A fine run by Alistair today leading out the field until he was out kicked to finish 5th in 13.47 behind Nick Willis (NZL) 1st in 13.44. The field also included David Torrence, 2nd in the 2012 Morton Mile, just pipping Alistair at the post to place 4th. Alistair left in his wake Will Leer, the 2012 Morton Mile winner, Ben True (winner of the Albie Thomas 3,000 in 2012 and Morton Stadium record holder), and regular Morton Milers Garrett Heath and Liam Boylan-Pett.
