Gregan wins in France and more

Jun 6, 2010 [Jeremy Lyons] Brian Gregan has a good win in France yesterday. The race took place in Valbonne in the south of France and Gregan clocked 46.65 to beat the British athlete Graham Hedman into second. Very promising with much of the season to come and it further lowers his own club record.

Elsewhere today at the Leinster Senior Championships in Tullamore, Sarah Woods won the 400m hurdles in a new PB of 68.83. Leah Moore had a super win in the Women’s 100m beating Anna Boyle and Eilish Fitzpatrick and clocking 12.33 into a -1.7 m/s wind.

Eleanor Alexander won the Women’s 800m and 1500m in 2:17.25 and 4:47.85 which adds further to our growing depth in these events, a super double by Eleanor.

Clonliffe’s most prolific performer this season, Tomas Rauktys, also had a double in the Shot Putt (14.61m) and Discus (48.43m) while Martin Hunt took the Hammer with a throw of 50.96.

Stephen Harkness had a great day taking the 1500m title in 4:09.75 and showed true competitive spirit by taking the silver in the 800m in 1:58.38. A great days work.

Conor McCrossan was 2nd in the 110m hurdles in 16.26 while Conor Coleman easily qualified for the final of the Men’s 100m and finished 4th in the final in 11.47.

All in all a great day for the Black and Amber with 8 Golds and 2 Silvers a great boost for the 1st Round of the National League next weekend.
