It was the turn of the Clonliffe master athletes to take to the stage today at Morton Stadium for the National Masters track and field championships. The 800 men all delivered with all three competitors winning precious medals. Niall Sherlock won M35 bronze with an impressive 2.12.34. In the M60 Philip O’Doherty silvered (2.28.97) and in the M65 George Maybury took bronze (3.02.26).
Going even better was the evergreen Frances Mansfield who took yet another national title winning the W75 hammer with a best of 19.90, three of Frances’ throws were in excess of 19m. Also winning an umpteenth national title was Matt Slattery who took gold in the M 65 200.
Pat Bonass took M75 5000 silver later this evening in 26.34.56, while Tom Monks was 7th in M55 5000 (20.54.91).
