May McDonald, RIP

Clonliffe Harriers extend our sympathies to our club Treasurer Brian McDonald and to his son, and fellow Clonliffe Harrier Mark on the sad passing of Brian’s mother May yesterday. See notice below, members please note the restrictions on numbers and in the circumstances Brian has requested that his friends in Clonliffe do not attend the funeral,

McDonald (née Fitzgerald) Iona Avenue, (formerly known as Shanganagh Road) Drumcondra, Dublin 9, 12th March 2020, peacefully at Elm Green Nursing Home, Castleknock, Dublin, May beloved wife of the late John and dearly loved mother of Claire, Brian, Yvonne and George, dearest sister of George, Kitty and the late Luke. She will be sadly missed by her loving sons, daughters, brother, sister, grandchildren Rosemarie, John, Mark, James, David and Matthew, great granddaughters Emilia and Gracie, daughters-in-law Bernie, Jeanette, Yvonne’s partner Nicky, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nephews, nieces, cousins, relatives, friends and neighbours.

Funeral Mass will take place on Monday at 9.30am in St. Columba’s Church, Iona Road, Glasnevin, Dublin 9, followed by interment in Glasnevin Cemetery.

We appreciate all the love and support from May’s family and friends, but we are legally bound to curtail numbers attending the funeral. The Mass will be streamed via webcam www.ionaroadparish.ie. We will be holding a celebration of May’s life at a future date. Thank you again for your support and your understanding at this difficult time.
