Morton Pre-Games to open with men’s 400 hurdles

An additional event has been added to the line up for the Morton Games on July 25th. The international programme will now commence with a men’s 400 metres hurdles race as a result of requests from athletes. In what already could be one of the races of the night the field is expected to include top one lap hurdlers Thomas Barr, Tim Crowe, Paul Byrne and John Fagan. Discussions are also currently underway with a couple of top overseas 400 metre hurdlers.

Further announcements are expected soon on adjustments to the programme of events, however, with the Meet now only a little over 40 days away athletes who would like to be considered for a starting place in one of the races are urged to contact the race director immediately by email to mortongames@hotmail.com to avoid disappointment.

The Morton Pre-Games will be officially launched by Minister Michael Ring at the Department of Transport, Tourism and Sport in Dublin’s Kildare Street on the 26th of June. See www.mortongames.ie for more
