Starting off with the European Cup 10,000 in Highgate, London where on Saturday evening Sergiu Ciobanu ran 30.15.95, placing 28th in race B, only 4 seconds off his 2010 pb.
At the Wicklow Hospice, also on Saturday 10 Mile Rachel Eustace was 1st woman in 67.30 with Mary Ketterer 3rd woman in 71.50.
Sunday and Jayme Rossister warmed up for next week’s European clubs with a 3.52.18 1500 at the Loughborough International.
Also on Sunday the Streets of Dublin 5k with a great Clonliffe presence of young athletes on volunteering duties at the finish expertly distributing medals, water and goody bags to the race finishers. Clonliffe finishers included Declan Power 5th 16.23, Eoghan Murphy 18.38, Maurice McCrohan 19.33, Mark Dowling 20.00, Dave Lyons 26.55 and Ashling Andrews.
On Saturday Philip O`Doherty competed in the European Master`s Non Stadia Championships in Alicante. The Irish M50 cross country relay team placing 4th missing out on bronze by only 10 seconds. Then on Sunday for his long run Philip took in the Half Marathon coming home in 91.45.
Missed last Thursday was Tom Sherlock`s 2nd place finish in the BHAA Beach race in Sandymount (again club members if you won`t share your results….0879599888, it`s not that complicated!)
