Sean Doran fastest at Dylan Ahern Memorial 5k

The annual Dylan Ahern Memorial 5k cross country took place in Malahide Castle today. There was a great turn out of Clonliffe Harriers, family and friends of Dylan on what was a beautiful spring morning, the nice bright sunshine, however, failed to mask a pretty raw cold wind. The race was held at the car park loop on the grass on what was one of Dylan`s favourite places for a run and as always was very well supported by not only runners (with no less than 61 starters) but a great turn out of officials.

Fastest man around the course with fine underfoot conditions was Sean Doran, showing a welcome return to form in a time of 18.00. The race itself is run on a handicap basis and was won by James Reidy, 2nd the evergreen Tom Monks and 3rd Robert Beckett. The fastest woman was fittingly Dylan`s sister Aimee (22.01).
