The Irish Universities Cross Country Championships took place yesterday in Waterford. Becky Woods was 9th in the women`s race for TCD as they took team bronze. Laurna Begley was 32nd. In the men`s race top Clonliffe man was Jayme Rossiter 13th, with Mark McDonald 21st and Stephen Cleary 23rd all running for DCU. The DCU took team honours.
Meanwhile an update from cross channel where Clonliffe Sprinter Leah Moore has been in fine form indoors. At the British University Championships in Sheffield on the weekend of Feb. 25th/26th Leah captained the women`s Brunel University team to 2nd overall chipping in a 4th place finish in the 60m final in 7.74, after a 7.73 heat and 7.72 semi, pretty consistant indeed. Leah also ran a 24.3 leg in the 4 X 200 relay as Brunel finished 3rd in that event.
