Weekend Round up: Gary 1st but not, at Dublin Half Marathon

While the Clonliffe juniors were battling away under the Portuguese sun on Saturday Gary O`Hanlon and Co. were battling away under a cloud in the Phoenix Park. Gary was 1st accross the finishing line in the Dublin Half Marathon but was then disqualified for failing to cross the start line! As the athletes went to the start line Gary was coming back to get “under starter’s orders” when the gun went as it was phyically impossible for him to cross the start line he did what any racer would do and raced away. As it turned out it was all in vain all Gary got for his troubles was a fast 13.1 fast training run. First Clonliffe man was therefore Ernie Ramsey 13th (74.48), 25th Chris Muldoon (76.55), Tom Sherlock (84.24), Kieran Murphy (84.37), Hans de Raeymaeker (86.52), Richie Barr (86.42), Conor Keane (88.48) , Alan Worrall (90.38), Kevin Fitzgerald (91.49), (omissions e mail name and time to noel.guiden@behans.ie).

Also on Saturday in the US the cross country season continues. Graham Mahon was 5th scorer for Clarke University in 123rd (31.27.5) in the St. Olaf`s Invitational, Minnesota over 8km. david fylnn was due in action for Arkansas but no result yet to hand.
