Weekend round up including Brian McMahon first in Limerick Marathon

Brian McMahon only a matter of two weeks after his last marathon in Paris was victorious in yesterday`s Limerick Marathon (Sunday 6th) winning in 2:27.43. Making it a Clonliffe double of sorts was Sergiu Ciobanu winning the Limerick Half Marathon in 67.59.

On Sunday Anthony Malone was in Bantry, Co. Cork for a half marathon running very well indeed to place 3rd in a time of 81.19.

Meanwhile on Saturday there were a number of Clonliffe athletes running in the latest BHAA road race, the RTE 5 mile in Donnybrook. Selected Clonliffe results: 23rd Ger Kirwan 28.09, 30th Eoin “The real thing” Murray and next in almost covered in a blanket: Fiachra Crean 29.06, Joe Phipps 29.15 and Jeremy Chapman 29.16. Full results www.bhaa.ie . At the Boyle 10k Mark Bermingham was 15th in 36.25, Colm Hickey was 17th in 36.53 and Pat O`Rourke ran 46.26.

Also on Saturday Le Cheile AC hosted the Leixlip 5k Road Race where Darren Reilly was 5th in 16.08, Ailish Malone was 22nd, and 2nd woman, (17.34) with Tom Sherlock next in 23rd (17.40)
