2,000 athletes for Brother Cross Country!

Entry has now closed for Wednesday`s Brother Schools Cross Country. Cross Country is alive and kicking with record numbers entered by schools from all over Dublin and beyond, with some 2,000 young athletes set to race.

This year sees for the first time 4 primary schools races on the programme, 5th and 6th classes for both girls and boys. These have proven to be extremely popular with 350 boys and 450 girls entered. Back once again are the boys of St. Brigids Foxrock, St. John Bosco , Holy Child Larkhill, The girls from Mary Help of Christians and first timers Scoil Mhuire Marino and Swords Educate Together to name just a few.

In the secondary school ranks on the girls side Colaiste Iosagain, Our Lady of Mercy, St. Dominics, Holy Faith and no less than three Loreto Colleges will do battle. While the boys will include local Clonliffe breeding ground St. Aidans CBS, Belverdere College, Fintan`s Sutton and defending Best Overall School from Belfast St. Malachys. The secondary schools have 4 races each for boys and girls.

Although entry is closed, individuals who`s school are not competing may enter of the day at the Clonliffe Hall (€3.00) from 10.45am.
