All that glitters isn`t always gold..sometimes it`s bronze

Glittering bronze was won today by Laura Tuite at the National Juvenile Indoors at Athlone IT.  Laura came into today`s 1500m U/17 as the Dublin Champion and ran a very mature race in her first ever indoor race. After a fast opening 200 the race settled down with the usual indoor bumping and boring, Laura avoided most of the trouble sitting near the back of the field until half way when she made a telling move on the home straight moving quickly into second place and then sitting on the shoulder of the leader in a four girl breakaway. With 2 laps to go it was a battle for medals, the leader was 5 meters away and doing her best Fionnuala Britton impression Laura refused to come 4th with a great last lap to  take her first ever individual national medal bronze and only a fraction off silver. Laura`s time was 5.02.77,  a pb by a huge margin.Wonderful stuff!
