Clonliffe Harriers AC received the great news today that Brother Ireland will continue it`s involvement with the club into 2013. It was confirmed that the Brother Foundation for young Clonliffe Athletes will continue for yet another year, the 5th year of the scheme. This means that thanks to the generosity of Brother that Clonliffe will be once again in a position to provide financial support for our young athletes. Since the Brother Foundation was established in 2009 Clonliffe have provided very substancial support for our athletes across all disciplines of the sport from sprinters to distance runners and to our field eventers. To assist young athletes of suitable ability and required standing with travel costs to suitable events overseas, where appropriate the purchase of specialised equipment or with assistance towards injury rehabilitation. Brother Ireland are the patrons of the Foundation. The Foundation is administered by a board of three who meet whenever required, all decisions of the Board on funding are decided on a simple majority basis. Any young athlete in Clonliffe Harriers A.C. has an entitlement to apply to the Foundation for funding subject to compliance with the rules of the Foundation. See menu above at “Others” and drop down to “Brother Foundation”.
In addition to that news Brother have also confirmed their commitment in 2013 to their support of the Brother at Your Side Clonliffe Schools XC in October meaning that that event will once again continue to provide a superb day`s cross country for primary and secondary schools with the promise of the extreamly popular event t shirt for all.
