After helping Clonliffe to win U/16 4 x 200 bronze yesterday Caitlin O`Reilly was back in action at Athlone IT for today`s National Juvenile Indoor Championships. Caitlin took it fairly easy in the 60m heats to finish 3rd in 8.10 and then had a fine run in the final to claim silver in an impressive 7.87 in a photo finish. Rebecca Fitzsimons, another athlete who was on yesterday`s relay team, jumped a best of 4.31m in the U/15 long jump which was just shy of making the final rounds. Great performances also by Sally Samola in the girls U/13 60, making the final and placing 4th, likewise Michael Coleman qualified for the final of his 60m where he finished 5th.
Next week will see some of the club`s middle distance athletes make the Athlone trip.
