Clonliffe at Dublin half marathon and more

Sep 18, 2010 [Noel Guiden] The final round of the Adidas Race Series, before the Dublin Marathon, took place in the Phoenix Park this morning. Today`s huge field was lead home by Bantry`s Alan O`Shea (67.06). There was a pretty good number of Clonliffe athletes in today`s race, first in the black `n`amber was Half Marathon Man himself Lorcan Cronin placing 4th in 71.06. In 50th place after an excellent run was Conor Delaney 78.25, in what may have been a new PB, another good run today from Mark Bermingham 68th (79.10), a few places ahead of Ronan Hartnett (80.17) in 75th. The Real Thing (that`s Eoin Murray, by the way) was 87th in 80.55 , 127th Jeremy Chapman (83.20), 166th Maurice McCrohan (84.56), 1st Clonliffe lady was Aisling Coppinger (88.42), 295th. A really good run today from Club Treasurer and winner of the Grand Prix Summer Series Paddy Tuite seen him run his best half marathon in several years 90.06, Alan Worrall ran 90.34 with Colm Hickey & Stephen Byrne marginally behind in 90.36 & 90.55 respectively. Next in was Mick Harkin in 93.54 Rachel McBride finished in 95.34, Pat Devitt 96.16, Colm Breen 97.36, Frank Devitt 102.13, on his comeback from injury Trevor Wisdom ran 103.38, John Fay 105.14 and Chris Troy 106.56. (ommissions to noel.guiden@behans.ie). So the club`s Marathon athletes with Dublin about 6 weeks away are looking in pretty good shape. Onwards and upwards.

Meanwhile Brian McMahon travelled to Gateshead for today`s Great North Run where he ran 70.21 finishing in 33rd place, with splits: 5k 15.53, 10k 32.19, 15k 49.20.
