Clonliffe at IMC Le Cheile Meet, plus round up

There was a very good contingent of Clonliffe athletes at the Le Cheile Ac/ IMC Meet in Leixlip this afternoon, Saturday the 8th. The mens 3000 was almost akin to a Clonliffe club championship with some seven Harriers taking to the line. In an almost gale force wind Colm Rooney was first home in 3rd place ( 8.30.54), 5th Ian Guiden (8.34.73), 8th Aaron Hanlon (8.39.20), 11th Daniel Stone in a fine PB of 8.40.67, 13th Eoin Taggart (8.57.3), 18th Stephen Cashin a PB of 9.09.83, Sean Carrigg 9.28.65.

In the 1500 Greg Hossenny ran 4.14.4, Women`s 800 young Sarah Bateson a pb of 2.27.18, Hannah Browne in the 400 67.2, Leah BerginĀ  58.96. In the 100 Isreal Ibanu (wind assisted) 100 11.11, 200 22.51.

Also at last night`s (Friday the 7th) Patrick Bell 5k Road Race in Bohermeen, Co. Meath Sean Doran was 3rd in 15.39.

On Saturday David Flynn was 18th in a 10,000 track race in Lieden, Holland which incorporated the Dutch national championships in 30.30.50 as in Le Cheile very strong winds featured.

Also on Saturday at the Northern Ireland/ Ulster championships in Belfast Keith Marks was 2nd in the long jump 7.13m and in the 100 ran 11.24 in his heat and 11.33 in the final to finish 5th, 3rd senior.
