Yesterday in glorious sunshine the Clonliffe Youth Brigade were in action for their schools in Portmarnock. A large number of Clonliffe athletes participated including Katie Edwards, Ruby Conroy, Rachel Power, Ruth Bowden, Aimee Daly, James McDonnell, Keith Burke, Ronan Donohoe, Lorcan Close and Conor O’Shea to name but a few with fine 2nd placings recorded by Katie Edwards and James McDonnell. Most of these athletes are in fact from one local school – St. Fiachra’s in Beaumont. Because each race is in fact a team event, most of the Clonliffe athletes will secure a medal as the first six of each team, if placed, will get a medal. And many St. Fiachra’s teams were not only placed but placed in first position !
A lot of smiling faces at the end of the day – all good !! The Clonliffe training has proven, yet again, to be worth its weight in GOLD !!!
