The Dublin Community Games took place over the course of the weekend at a rain sodden Morton Games with a number of Clonliffe juvenile athletes in action for their local communities. Some excellent performances which included a Clonliffe clean sweep in the boys U/16 1500 courtesy of Cian Bolger 1st, Ben Guiden 2nd and Aaron Cullen 3rd.
Equally impressive was the Clonliffe one two in the girls U/14 800: Emma McDonnell 1st and Katie Halpin 2nd, not far off these two was Alana Fitzsimons in 5th place. 2nd place also in the boys U/14 800 for Daragh Carter.
In the sprints Rebecca Fitzsimons was 1st U/16 200 with Rapha Diamond 2nd. In the U/16 100 Success Osuoha was 2nd and Jessica Dedeku 3rd. Sally Sumola was 1st U/12 100. Blaise Carroll was 2nd in the U/14 long jump. In the U/14 80 hurdles Ella Cooley was an excellent 4th. In the U/14 relay the “Clonliffe” team of Alana Fitzsimons, Emma McDonnell, Ella Cooley and Vicky McDonnell took silver.
