Congratulations to Clonliffe`s Pierce O`Callaghan on the welcome news from the IAAF Council today. The IAAF Council met in Barcelona this weekend and announced that Pierce O’Callaghan has been confirmed as an International Race Walking Judge for the IAAF World Championships in Moscow in August 2013. Pierce becomes only the second Irish man ever to be appointed as an International Technical Official for an IAAF World Championship event and it marks a very successful period for the Ashbourne man who has been a member of the International Race Walking Judges panel since 2005. The Clonliffe Harriers clubman was previously appointed as an International Judge for the Beijing and London Olympics as well as the 2009 World Championships in Berlin and the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi.
