Some excellent performances from the Clonliffe master athletes at the National Masters track and field championships held in Tullamore on Saturday, the 12th. Cathal McHale took gold in the M35 5000 in a time of 15.58.01. David Donegan took M40 pole vault gold with a 3.70 best. Gold also for Edel Maguire W60 400 in 66.53, likewise gold for Frances Mansfield W75 hammer (17.56). Niall Sherlock took to the long jump like a duck to water winning M35 gold (4.28)!
Diarmuid Doyle captured M 65 800 silver in a time of 2.45.54 and 1500 bronze (5.46.22). Silver also for Thomas Moran M 45 100 in 12.05. Joe Gibbons took home double bronze – M 65 discus (21.57) and javelin (16.67).
Also competing were Niall Sherlock 7th M 35 1500 (4.41.87), Tom Monks 5th M60 5,000 (21.55.14) and Darryl Piggott M55 400 5th (64.36).
