Clonliffe men off to great start in National League

The Clonliffe men got the first round of the league under their belts with a great start at the Mary Peters Track in Belfast today. The men finished the day topping their group on 103 points just ahead of Donore Harriers 102, Crusaders 90, North Down 89, Raheny 88, DSD 80 and Tallaght AC 76.

The foundations today were built on the technical events. Maximum points being gathered by the youngest member of the squad Greg Hosseny in the Race Walk, a great start to his senior career by the 17 year old. Andri Mahin took full points in the 400H and then the field eventers chipped in with Ian Rogers, in the pole vault, Andrew Heney, high jump and Simon Galligan hammer all delivering winning points to the cause. The great 4 x 100 squad also did the business with the quartet of Keith Pike, Stuart Roche, Isreal Ibanu and Chrisopher Sabina taking maximum points.
