The Clonliffe men’s team and band of supporters travels to Barcelona, Spain early tomorrow morning for the European Club`s Cross Country Championships which takes place in Castellon some 140km from Barcelona on Sunday afternoon. The team includes a wealth of experience with three of the members seasoned European campaigners and two making their European debuts. The full team is: Sergiu Ciobanu, Gary O’Hanlon, Brian MacMahon, and Michael MacDiarmada all with previous European experience and European debuts for John Heneghan and Declan Power.

There are some sixteen clubs entered for the men’s championship, the favourites are the crack Spanish team of Bikila Atletismo which includes pre race favourite Ayad Lamdassem.
The men’s race takes place on Sunday at 1.10 p.m. local time over 10,000 metres.
The team departs from terminal 2 in Dublin Airport tomorrow (Friday), meeting at 5.30 a.m. for their flight to Barcelona returning on Monday night.
