Sunday`s National Inter Counties cross country in Dundalk also includes the National Juvenile (even ages) cross country. There are three Clonliffe boys teams taking part.
The U/14 team of Aaron Cullen, Ben Guiden, Cian Bolger, Cillian Forrester and Darragh Carter placed 3rd in Dublin and will look to gain vital championship experience at this level. All 5 boys have been showing excellent form in training in recent weeks and will look forward to the challenge.
The U/16s missed out on Dublin gold by a fraction and on Sunday will give a really good account of themselves in the Nationals. The team is very experienced with all, save one, having competed at National level for club and school on recent years. The team is: Joseph Hession, Alex Hogan, Sean O`Leary, Fintan McManus, Craig Giles and Keith Hodson.
The U/18s are weakened as a result of injury to a couple of key men, however, the team for Sunday are chomping at the bit and will relish the conditions with U/17 Dublin Champion Adam O`Brien in fine form they will be challengers for medals. The team is: Adam O`Brien, Brian Flanagan, Sean Carrig, Ross Kearney, Kevin McKenna and Alex Gibbons.
Hope Saunders, the Dublin U/18 and Junior Champion, goes in the National U/18.
In the Inter Counties Colm Rooney runs on the Dublin team in the senior race, in the junior men both Niall Norman and Eoin Taggart also run for Dublin. While Alannah Cooley and Laura Tuite go in the junior women`s race.
