Below you will find final instructions as well as a course map and the starting order as the race is an open handicap.

In particular it is important that you were a face mask for the meeting up and for the taking of instructions as these will be more crowded areas.Do not attend if you have any symptoms whatsoever including symptoms of a common cold, but please arrange a PCR test. Do not attend if you are a close contact of a confirmed Covid 19 case. Do not attend if you or a family member are waiting for the result of Covid test. We would also ask that you do not attend if you have not been vaccinated. Dressing rooms: remain closed so you should arrive ready for your warmup/race. There are no shower facilities or dressing rooms available post race. Toilets will be available.

Start list: If you are no longer running please text 0879599888, with your name. No late entries. Start order:

Race numbers: these have been allocated and your race number will be in an envelope to be collected by the coach of your particular group. Your coach will therefore have your race number. Coaches please collect race numbers on the morning at 9.30. If the coach is not attending can the coach appoint someone else from the group to look after this particular task.

Entry fee: there is no entry fee but we would like to make this a charitable occasion and request that all make a donation in an envelope of a cash sum. As you are aware Joe Cooper passed away this time last year and with this in mind having consulted with Joe’s family the club would like to donate all funds to the Irish Hospice Foundation. There will be boxes available for your donations.

Warm up: please warmup in small groups and be mindful of people out walking in the Santry area on the morning.

Briefing: there will be a short briefing track side which all athletes must attend, this will take place at 10.15 am.

The race: is an open handicap over 5K, the race will start on the track (in the event of the track being frozen the race will start from the back of the old Clonliffe stand). The first runners will be sent underway at 10.30.

Course: is on the open road and in those circumstances it is advisable that all were a bright coloured top and insofar as possible run on the footpath. Please be careful of traffic, although it is expected that traffic will be light traffic may not be expecting to come across a bunch of runners!

Course map:

Race finish: on the track, there will be a chute which all athletes should go through so that your finishing place can be recorded. Results will be published on the club website however there is a big entry and it may not be possible to record the actual net times of all and the strong advice therefore is that if your finishing time is of importance that you self time your run. Please do not approach race officials looking for your time!

Prizes: in the handicap there will be a prize of a Christmas cake to the first senior, junior and master woman and man. There will also be a prize for the fastest woman and fastest man. Prize-giving will be made outside immediately after the race.

Last Lap Cafe: the club has arranged with our friends from Last Lap Café that they will attend on the morning and will provide hot beverages to all.

Officials: Please report to stadium at 9.00am.
