Cragg looks to marathon after 2nd place finish in Phoenix half

Jan 18, 2011 [Noel Guiden] Alistair Cragg had another good Half Marathon outing over the weekend. Running in the Phoenix Half Marathon in Arizon Cragg finished 2nd in a nifty 63:22. According to today`s Irish Independent Cragg let Shawn Forrest (AUS) slip away after a mile and spent the rest of the race trying to close the gap. He is quoted as saying: ” So I spent 12 miles chasing him and I can tell you it was not fun out there. With two or Three miles to run I felt confident I would reel him in but then he found something extra. This was my first race since September and I have made a full recovery from my tendon problems so I`m very pleased and I would think that I can break the Irish record for the distance when I run in New York in a couple of months. I then hope to run a marathon and get myself selected for the World Championships”.
