First graded meet of Covid 19 era (updated)

Tonight saw the first Covid-19 era graded meet at a spectatorless Morton Stadium tonight. With the upper limit of 200 souls in the stadium at any one time it made for a challenging occasion for all and sundry.

There was a win for Shannon Sheehy in the high jump with a 1.70m, and then very close to a 1.75 clearance! Jonny Whan made a winning debut in the Clonliffe vest in the A 1500 3.53.31 9error in official results). Likewise a good run by Ben Guiden 2nd in the B race with a big pb of 4.08.2.

A pb also for Greta Streimikyte in the 1500 of 4.40.91 placing 1st in the B race, 9th in this race was Katie Halpin 5.16.9, 11th Aoife Hession 5.18.6, 13th Abbie Sheehy 5.25.7, 14th Amy Sheehy 5.26.3 and 15th Naoise Cullen 5.26.9. Just before this in the A race the Clonliffe trio were well down the field Jenny Johnson 11th, 5.02.1, Sarah Bateson 13th 5.07.3 and Alannah Cooley 5.09.0.

In a quality Dublin 10,000 championship Karl Nolan was 9th (32.09.3), 14th Declan Power (33.26.6) and 15th Thomas Sherlock (34.22.8) Results now in for the throws, Eoin Sheridan won the discus with a best of 51.38 and in the women’s Frances Mansfield was 7th (13.63) and in the shot 4.48 for 10th.
