Gold for Aaron Hanlon at National Juveniles

Please forgive belated report, Morton Games business is the excuse. Sunday July 15th was day 2 on the National Juvenile track and field in Tullamore. Another good outing for the black and amber brigade with Aaron Hanlon providing the stand out performance of the day with another fine front running race win. After coming so close to gold in the junior 3,000 in Santry he would not be out done on the day running the legs off the opposition as he won solo in an impressive 8.40.59 a winning margin of almost 39 seconds. John Buckley was 10th in this race in 9.48.7.

Elaine Begley took U/19 400h silver (66.09). There was then a clutch of bronze medals won by the club`s athletes: Seanna was a fine 3rd in the U/17 400m running a new pb of 60.05, Roisin Leahy 3rd in the U/19 800m (2.26.86), Aretech Safari took U/19 shot bronze with a throw of 10.03 and winning her first national medal in the Clonliffe colours Caoimhe Morris in the U/19 hammer 35.90.

Very good battling performances also on the day from Laura Tuite in the u/16 800m 10th in a new pb of 2.33.67, Joseph Hession 5th U/14 800m 2.20.21 and Liam Ashton U/18 800m 5th in 2.02.03.
