Good runs from Juveniles in Phoenix Park wind and rain

A miserable morning in the Phoenix Park greeted the athletes from round 3 of the Dublin Juvenile league. A cold biting wind, heavy showers and a rain sodden surface added to the enjoyment. Again there was a good turn out of Clonliffe athletes, some 30 hardy shivering souls made the trip, the objective being to build on the last outing two weeks back in the build up for the Dublins. Coach to the younger age groups Gerry Carr reported on steady improvements from all of his charges, making light of the conditions and putting in some more excellent run with particularily good runs in the U/11 girls by Abbey and Yasmen. In the U/14 age groups Joseph Hession had a fine win while in the girls Aimee McGrath had her best run to date with an excellent 6th place after a very positive race. Sean Carrigg was top Clonliffe in the U/15 s placing 7th good runs also from Shane Merrigan and Thomas Ward. Alannah Cooly had a touch battle in the girls U/15. Cathal Doyle ran well in the U/16s, this was a combined race with the U/17 s and 18 s, Cathal was 2nd overall, most likely 1st U/16, an impressive outing also in this from Brian Flanagan 6th and Ross Kearney 8th. Sally Aherne had a fine race in the girls U/16 placing 3rd and a good battling debut by Ali Dealey, her first race for the club and only two weeks running under her belt.
