The leaderboard has been updated and can be accessed on the Grand Prix Series page, go to menu bar, see Promotions. The current leader after 7 rounds is Niall O`Connor on 134 points, with Mick Bermingham on 133 and Anton Doran 3rd on 131.
Next up is the Mick Murphy Memorial 5 Mile in Malahide Castle on Thursday evening, June 29th at 8.00pm, two laps of the Castle grounds. The Michael Murphy Memorial Race has been running now for some 36 years. The race was first run in the grounds of Malahide Castle back in 1980, the fastest time recorded that day was by Michael Murphy in a time of just over twenty-four minutes, tragically later that year, Michael was killed in a road traffic accident in the United States and the following year the 5 mile race was run in his memory. Michael’s family donated the cup and have almost every year been in attendance on the race night to present their prize to the fastest man. The race is one of the highlights of the club year and is one of the jewels in the Grand Prix series.
Needless to say anyone not running who fancies helping out come along on the evening. The prize giving will take place in Malahide Cricket Club and members are encouraged to remain on for a good social evening.
