Gregan signs off season with a 46.30

Brian Gegan concluded a superb season in Robereto, Northern Italy last night finishing 4th in the 400 in 46.30. The 2017 season saw the Clonliffe man return to and then surpass his previous best form. After a tentative enough start as he recovered from early season illness he began putting together s great series of races in Europe winning and running fast times, including World Championships QT all building up to that fantastic race in the Loki Sports 400 in Santry at Morton Games on July 11th when he ran a new PB and club record of 45.26 (a fraction off the stadium record) beating a world class field and reviving the “Santry Roar”. Some 10 days later Brian was once again the National 400 Champion and then of course he ran with convection in the world Championships in London to make the semi finals. Brian then raised Clonliffe spirits to a new level as the World saw the Clonliffe vest race in a Diamond League Meet in Birmingham. Well done Brian on a magnificent 2017 season.
