At tonight`s Dublin Graded Meet in Tallaght Clonliffe`s Greta Streimyte put in a tremendous performance in the women`s 1500 to bag the qualifying time for the Paralympic Games in Rio. Greta, a partially sighted athlete, had a target of 5.20 and with a superb final lap was comfortably inside that time clocking 5.16.40
Alannah Cooley was also in fine form recording a 1500 pb of 5.09.25 in placing 5th in grade B. A great pb also for Josh Stubbs of 4.17.0 after a fine run indeed in grade B finishing a battling 2nd. Tom Sherlock was 5th in that race in 4.22.1. In grade C Sean Carrigg also recorded a pb running 4.22.84 as did Liam Roarty of 4.27.48. In grade D after two pedestrian opening laps club pairing Shane Merrigan and Alex Gibbons took up the running to record a one two in 4.39.94 and 4.42.33 respectively.
Earlier in the meet Leah Bergin and Kate Hession ran well in the 200s, Leah clocking a time of 27.81 and Kate 29.18
