Kenneally smashes 5,000 best

Jul 27, 2009 [] Congratulations to Mark Kenneally on a fantastic new 5000m personal best time of 13.36.71. Running the last lap under 59 seconds,Mark finished 4th in Flanders Cup race in Braaschat, Belgium on Sunday night and in doing so knocked over 9 seconds off his previous best time. This performance leap frogs him over both Richard Mulligan and Noel Harvey on the Clonliffe all time list to 5th.

In other races over the weekend, Becky Woods and Louise Reilly had their final warm up races before the National Championships this weekend when they finished 7th and 8th at the Irish Milers Club race on Saturday night – with times of 2.16.08 and 2.16.92. At the same meeting Bret Paine ran 1.55.55 for 8th in the 800m A race where Mark McDonald ran 1.56.52 for 10th. David Fitzmaurice was 17th in the mens 1500m in 4.01.37.
