Leinster Track and Field cancelled, Question mark over Nationals.

With the government having deferred Phase 4 until the end of the month  at the earliest and numbers permitted at out door events remaining at 200 Athletics Leinster has issued notification that the Leinster Championships for Juniors, Seniors and Masters are now cancelled.

Clearly a question mark remains over the upcoming National Track and Field. The U/17 to U/19 Championships are clearly now a major doubt. Athletes Ireland had previously stated that the holding of these championships was conditional upon numbers permitted to be in attendance increasing from 200 to 500. Regarding the senior track and field currently listed for the 22nd and 23rd Athletics Ireland are currently considering the options on this event. Further updates when available.

Clonliffe will continue to provide racing opportunities for our athletes. Tomorrow, Thursday the 6th sees a series of mile races with some 100 athletes entered. Then on either Thursday the 13th or Tuesday the 18th Clonliffe will have races for club members over 200(if sufficient interest), 800 or 1000 and 5000. We are also likely to have a night of 1500/3000 heading towards the end of the month. Further details this weekend.
