There were impressive performances by a number of the clubs athletes at today’s AAI indoor games in Athlone. Marcus Lawler came within 100th of a second of Brian Gregan’s 2013 club indoor 200 record as he won in a fast 21.28. Earlier in the day over 60 Marcus clocked 6.99 finishing 3rd in series 1 and then clocked the same time when finishing 4th in series 2. Leo Morgan ran well in the 60 finishing 2nd in both series 1 and series 2 clocking an identical 6.95 in both. Michael Deady in series 1 ran 7.58 and then went faster in series 2 clocking 7.47. In the 400 Aaron Smith finished 1st in his heat in a time of 50.54. Leah Bergin impressed once again finishing 2nd in the 400 in 55.74. A new 400 PB for Clodagh Dunbar of 59.23 and Anna Heavey ran 62.35. In the 1500 Greta Streimyte ran very well indeed finishing 5th in a time of 4.33.49.
Chris Sibanda was 4th in the 60 (6.81) in Bratislava today.
