She has been particularly successful on the popular road circuit and is the reigning US 1 Mile Road champion which she won at the 2014 Grand Blue Mile in an event record of 4.34.62, to regain the title she won in 2012. With road mile victories this year in Michigan, The Ryan Shay Mile and the Liberty Mile she has earned the nickname in the States of ‘Queen of the Road Mile’. Whilst at the University of Michigan she was a 9 time NCAA All American and was the NCAA 800 Indoor Champion in 2006. In 2014 she competed in the World Indoor 1500 metres in Sopot. Throw in blistering pace, she ran 2.00.04 over 800 on the 16th of July last year, and that may well make her one of the favourites to win the International Women’s Mile at this years Morton Games.

In the pole vault: Hot on the heals of the confirmation from Igor Bychkov (ESP) comes confirmation that the joint pole vault stadium record holder with Bychkov, Luke Cutts (GBR) has confirmed for this years Morton Games. These two athletes were involved in one of the most dramatic events at the 2013 Morton Games when they jointly set a new stadium record of 5.56m. Vault after vault and they could not be separated and as exhaustion eventually set in a tie was declared.

Since those Morton Games Cutts has gone on to extend his PB outdoors to 5.70m, in London the 27th of July and this year Indoor on the 25th of January 2014 vaulted to an unbelievable 5.83m.

Morton Games are delighted that these two world class athletes are coming back to Santry to thrill the Morton Stadium crowd.
