Rooney fastest in Clonliffe 2 Mile Time Trials

In this Covid 19 world which we currently inhabit a reimagined Clonliffe 2 took place in lashing rain as part of Clonliffe Harriers Sunday morning training session in Morton Stadium this morning. The Clonliffe 2 of course is usually a road race but for 2020 was reconfigured as a series of Clonliffe training time time trials. Run strictly in accordance with Covid 19 guidelines it was confined to the normal training pods with a maximum of 15 in each pod running in a number of time trials. Fastest was Colm Rooney (9.15), second fastest Efrem Gidey (9.19), third fastest was Ben Guiden (9.37), fastest junior was Sean Boyne (10.29), fastest woman Sarah Bateson (11.26), second fastest woman Laura Tuite (11.41), third fastest woman Jenny Johnston (11.51) with the fastest junior woman Katie Halpin (12.36).

Clonliffe would like to thank our loyal sponsor Kavanagh’s ‘the Gravediggers’ and also our club captain Joe Cooper who kindly sponsored the fastest juniors. Thanks also of course to the club members who came out to officiate and got a damn good soaking as their reward! We very much look forward to the return of the Clonliffe Two Mile Road Race in May 2021.

Jenny Johnston 3rd fastest, Sarah Bateson fastest, Laura Tuite 2nd fastest
Ben Guiden 3rd fastest, Efrem Gidey 2nd fastest, Colm Rooney fastest
