Senior Cake Race and Awards Night tomorrow Thursday 18th

Tomorrow night, Thursday the 18th, will see the winding up of the club 2014 season (the only other event will be the Cracker 5k on St. Stephen`s Day), with the annual Cake Races and the Clonliffe Awards Night.

The route for the races is the 5 K loop from the stadium up through Northwood and back finishing on the track. The womens race is at 7.30 with the men at 8.00. Athletes wishing to run must text their name for women to Pamela (086 1503015 ) and men to Joe ( 087 2256004). Athletes must also wear a bright coloured top.

Afterwards there will be a social night in the club bar where presentation of prizes will be made to the Cake Race winners followed by presentations to Clonliffe athletes who set club records in 2014 and to the club`s 2014 National Champions. This will be followed by the Athletes of the Year awards, generously sponsored by Loki Sports.

Clonliffe Master athlete of the year: Bernie Byrne, Geraldine Reilly, Philip O’Doherty

Clonliffe Women’s Track and Field athlete of the year: Ciara McCallian, Becky Woods, Caoimhe Morris

Clonliffe Men`s Track and Field athlete of the year:Ian Rogers, Keith Pike, Brian Gregan

Clonliffe Women’s road/cross country athlete of the year: Sara McCormack, Ailish Malone, Emer O’Brien

Clonliffe Men’s road/cross country athlete of the year: Sergiu Ciobanu, Gary O’Hanlon, Brian MacMahon.

It would be great to see as many Clonliffe Harriers as possible there tomorrow. Leave the car at home!!
