On Friday of next week November 29th the boys from St. Aidans CBS cross country teams will hold a fundraising Table Quiz in the Clonliffe Club bar at 7.00pm. The quiz is organised by Alan O`Neill and is to raise funds for the team to travel to compete in European Schools Cross-Country Open on Feb 15th . Tables of 5 are available at a cost of €20. Donations of Spot prizes are most most welcome.
Alan O`Neill explains: “So we have 10 fundraising events planned, and the event organisers were so impressed by our ideas they made us ‘Ambassadors of Fundraising’. We have 21 athletes (19 Clonliffe) and 5 teachers/coaches heading over. Flying out on Sat Feb 15th, returning on Thursday 20th. The race takes place on Wed 19th. Approx. 25 countries will be represented, including 3 schools from Ireland, Knockbeg, St. Mary’s Mullingar and ourselves. The event is being organised by John Downes and Andrew Walker in Santa Brigida, Gran Canaria. Life changing stuff. A week of training, swimming, environmental awareness, talks, meditation, diet advice, and winning! Will be awesome!”
