Weekend round up

Saturday saw some of the juniors take in the St. Anne’s, Raheny Parkrun where Niall Carbery lead the field home in 15.56. Dermot Buckley ran 18.24 and young Rebecca Walsh 21.29.

In Malahide Castle, also on Saturday, the O’Rourke Shield took place over 5k on the country. Winnner of the handicap was Tom Monks with a net time on 20.48 followed in by Aimee Ahern and Clodagh Moriarty. Fastest athlete with an 18.52 showing was David Dunwoody with Aimme Ahern fastest woman (21.37). This was the 38th running of the event going back to 1984.

Also yesterday young Mateu Ursachi won the St. Paul’s College junior mile in St. Anne’s Park in 4.57.

Drogheda 5k: Joyce, Ciara, Ger & David

Today, Sunday, several Clonliffe athletes took in the Drogheda & District AC Christmas 5k, Tudor Moldovan was 5th (15.09), 7th was Sean Doran (15.20), 20th Ger Kirwan (16.37), 34th David Brady (17.19) these 4 placing 2nd team. Ciara Peelo recorded a fine PB of 18.30 7th woman with Joyce O’Hare running 20.32.
