Due to health and safety conerns as a result of a record entry of 175 club members for the cake race and also the current covid rates we have decided that it is a much safer prospect to defer Tuesday’s race to St Stephen’s morning , Sunday the 26th with a 10.30 start. The club appreciates fully that the change of date may impact upon other plans athletes may have had surrounding family commitments and so forth and that as a result may not be able to take in the cake race on that new date, however we are satisfied that health and safety is the most important consideration. Having reflected the prospects of running a night race in Santry safely with those numbers presented too big a challenge and was too great a risk. It is important that we hold the race this year and in the safest environment possible. We would ask that if you have entered the cake race and cannot now take part that you please email eventsclonliffeharriersac@gmail.com asap so we can take you off the start list. Likwise the new date may not suit all our officials so anyone in a position to officiate on St. Stephens’ morning please text Noel 0879599888.
