It was back to the NIA, Abbotstown today for the IUAA Indoor championships for a number of the Clonliffe track & field team. In the sprints Molly Haslam (TCD) ran 26.61 in the 200 heats and later finished 6th in the triple jump with a best of 9.88m. Kenji Miyauchi (TCD) finished 5th in his 200 heat (24.00) and 3rd in his 60 heat (7.15). Naoise Cullen (TCD) in her 400 ran 72.01.
In the middle distance events Sarah Bateson (MU) ran a 1500 season’s best of 4.49.20 finishing in 8th position, this was also a Maynooth University record. Heat 3 of the men’s 1500 featured a battle between Clonliffe and collegiate teammates Jack Maughan 8th (4.04.96) and Stephen Cashin 10th (4.06.16). Andrew Gaffney (TUD) was 5th in heat 2 of the 3000 in a PB of 10.02.41. Oren Kenny (TCD) had a very good day custody winning his 800 heat in 2.03.21 in the final ran a PB of 1.57.48 finishing in 4th position.
Note: On Sunday Anto Doran was 4th in the Clogherhead Seaside 5k in 17.50.
