Final Round of Juvenile Spring Series this Sunday

Sunday next, the 24th sees the concluding round of the Juvenile Spring Race Series. This weekend’s event will take place in the Morton Stadium, Santry on the track. To date this has been an extremely enjoyable series featuring athletes not only from Clonliffe Harriers but also from Skerries A.C., Lusk A.C., Portmarknock A.C. and Ballyboughal A.C. The two rounds to date took place on very different surfaces, round 1 at the start of the month was on the south beach, Skerries whilst the second round took place on an astro-turf track in Portmarknock.

The programme for this Sunday is:

U/9  –  300m

U/11  –  500m

U/13  –  800m

U/15  –  1200m

U/17  –  1 mile

The event will get underway at 11 a.m. sharp with a tight one hour programme to be finished at 12 noon and then to be followed by refreshments for our guests in the Clonliffe club bar.

All athletes taking part are reminded that if wearing spikes the maximum spike length permitted is 5mm. Please also note that the in field of the track is strictly off limits for both athletes and coaches as there will be javelin training on going on Sunday.

Please also note that the indoor arena is not to be used as again it is being used for training.

Toilets will be available in the Clonliffe clubhouse and also at the indoor section.

Car parking will be both at the Clonliffe side, please enter through the Clonliffe gate and at the main indoor arena, entry via gate number 1.

Clonliffe juvenile athletes taking part on Sunday should assemble at 10.15 a.m.
