The Dublin Athletic Board’s juvenile indoor championships take place this coming weekend February 14th, 15th and 16th in the Morton Stadium Santry with places in the Nationals at the Indoor Arena in Athlone IT up for grabs. Would members please note that the Morton Stadium is therefore, not available for Clonliffe training on Sunday February 16th.
The Championships commence on Friday night at 7 p.m. The field events on the programme that night are long jump, triple jump, high jump and shot putt for the U/15 to U/17 age groups. Outdoor the 1500 metres will take place from 7 p.m. for U/16 to U/19.
Saturday the 15th. Proceedings will get underway at 11 a.m. with track events only (all outdoor). At 11 a.m. the 200 metres take place for ages U/16 to U/19 followed at 12 noon with the girls and boys U/9 500m up as far as U/19 800m. Walks will also take place.
Sunday February 16th sees and early 10 a.m. start for the indoor sprints over 60m. At 2 p.m. the 60m hurdles will take place.
Day 4 of the Dublin Indoor Championships then takes place on Saturday the 22nd of February at Tallaght A.C. track where boys and girls U/18 and 19 400m will take place followed by 4 x 100m heats and 4 x 200m heats.
The final day of the championships will be Sunday the 23rd of February back in the Morton Stadium, on this day there is mainly field events with a 12.30 p.m. start with U/10 long jump followed by high jump and shot put again for the younger age groups up as far as U/14. Outdoor there will be finals of 600m and 800m for boys and girls.
