One calendar month to go to Morton Games 2014

Today there is only a calendar month to go to the 2014 Morton Games which will take place in the Morton Stadium Santry on Friday July 11th. The local organising committee of Morton Games will once again be delivering a top class International Track and Field Meet for Dublin.  Already this Meet looks likely to surpass the drama and excitement of last years world class Meet.  Dozens of world class athletes have been confirmed including Olympians: Manteo Mitchell (USA), 2012 Olympic 4 x 400 silver medallist, Jarrin Solomon (TRI) 2012 4 x 400 bronze medallist, John Steffensen (AUS) 2004 Olympic 4 x 400 silver medallist, Juan Luis Barrios, 2 time Olympic 5000m finalist, Molly Huddle (USA) 2012 Olympic 5000m finalist, Gen Lacaze (AUS), 2012 London Olympian, Ryan Gregson (AUS), 2012 London Olympian, Igor Bychkov (ESP) London 2012 pole vault finalist, Mahau Suguimati (BRA) 2008 Olympian.  Also confirmed are national champions and national record holders galore including Hamish Carson, the New Zealand national 1500m champion, Brittany McGowan, Australian 800m champion, and a host of international athletes from all five continents.

Morton Games are also delighted to confirm that Ireland’s top athletes will once again be competing in Santry including Thomas Barr (Ferrybank AC) who in the last couple of weeks has set a new Irish 400h record, Mark English (UCD) who lit up Morton Stadium at last years Meet in setting a new stadium 800 record, Paul Robinson (St. Cocas), Clonliffe Harrier Brian Gregan who will take on the challengers in the 400, in the sprints Jason Smyth (City of Derry), Steven Colvert (Crusaders) and national champion David Hynes (Menapians), Kelly Proper (Ferrybank) who will go in both the 100 and 200 and in the women’s 800 Ireland’s top two lappers Laura Crowe (An Riocht), Katie Kirk (Lagan Valley), Aislinn Crossey (Newry AC) and Ciara Everard (UCD).
