School’s Athletics Returns to Santry

School’s athletics after an 18 month Covid 19 hiatus returned to Santry on Saturday, the 4th, for trials for the Tailteann Games in Morton Stadium. Interestingly enough the last schools athletics also took place in Santry, the All Ireland schools cross country which was hosted by Clonliffe back in the heady days of March (early!) 2020.

Saturday’s trials in Morton was for places on the Leinster schools team for this weekend’s Tailteann Games (Saturday the 11th). There were five Clonliffe athletes in action with fine performances by all. There were third-place finishes recorded by JD Kelly in the 800, Sean Cronin in the 1500 and Cillian Keegan in the steeplechase. In the 1500 Devan Morrisey was 7th with Cathal O’Neill 8th.
