Warm weather training all round

News from Albufeira, Portugal is of a very successful week’s warm weather training by the Clonliffe middle distance men and women, plus a couple of sprinters and field eventers, under the watchful eyes of coaches Gerry Cullen and Brian MacDonald. The group gave the 4 lane track more than it’s fair share of use, and of course with the nearby trails it made for an ideal training environment. Clonliffe’s national javelin champion Grace Casey was in excellent company meeting Latvian javelin couple, Lina Muze, a 64.87 thrower who competed in the Tokyo Olympic Games and 2016 European champion Zigismund Sirmo, who has a PB of 86.66. Today the group met Clonliffe Lifers Johnny O’Leary, Paddy Marley and Martin Treacy who are in Portugal on their own WWT. Thankfully there were no deportations, yet!

Meanwhile back in Santry the athletes left behind enjoyed an excellent ‘non-rainy day’ training session, in fact the sun shone and it might even have pass as warm weather training in comparison with the last couple of weeks.
